Azerbaijan exported over 8,000 tons of ferrous metals and related products worth $7.39 million in January 2025, marking a 2.8-fold increase in both value and volume compared to the same period last year, according to the State Customs Committee.
Ferrous metals accounted for 0.24% of total exports and 3% of non-oil exports during the reporting period.
In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan exported 91,102.11 tons of ferrous metals and related products worth $86.29 million.
The share of ferrous metals in Azerbaijan’s total non-oil sector exports during this period was 3.54%.
For comparison, in 2023, the country exported 147,394.57 tons of ferrous metals and related products worth $136.54 million. This marked a 17.5% increase in value compared to 2021, despite a slight 0.21% decline in volume. Last year, ferrous metals accounted for 4.48% of total non-oil exports.
