Severstal has finished building a roll-forming line for cold-formed steel sheet piles and thick-walled steel channels at its Cherepovets plant. This project involved an investment of over RUB 1.5 billion ($16.74 million).
The new line has a production capacity of about 60,000 metric tonnes per year. It will serve various sectors, including hydraulic structures, transport, civil construction, and infrastructure, while reducing reliance on imports. This makes Severstal the first Russian company to produce cold-formed steel sheet piles under its Grani brand.
The company also plans to invest around RUB 1 billion ($11.16 million) to build a pile pipe production line at the same plant, which will launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
