Overview of Russian Steel Industry Outlook
Alexey Abrosimov, the minister of industry and trade of Khabarovsk Territory, discussed the future of the Russian steel industry and Amurstal’s plans at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Production Growth Expectations
Abrosimov expects Russian steel production to rise by 1.2% in 2025 and 1.1% in 2026. Finished steel output is projected to increase by 19.2% in 2025 and by 3.1% in 2026. Amurstal plans to boost its rolled steel production to 650,000 mt next year while expanding its production complex.
Domestic Demand Factors
He noted that rising demand from the construction, mechanical engineering, and pipe industries is driving growth in the steel sector. Additionally, increased competitiveness of steel products results from modernization and new sales market development.
